That unmatched connectivity and convenience, a hallmark of the Indianapolis experience, will remain even as the Indiana Convention Center undergoes a significant expansion and the 63,000-seat Lucas Oil Stadium, featuring a retractable roof, opens in August. Lucas Oil Stadium will contain significant exhibition and meeting space and be linked via climate-controlled walkway to the Indiana Convention Center.

Indianapolis … Post-Expansion

The Indiana Convention Center will undergo a dramatic expansion. When completed in 2010, the Indiana Convention Center will have 566,000 square feet of exhibit space and Lucas Oil Stadium will have an additional 179,000 square feet.
In 2011, a 1,600+ room JW Marriott complex will open and be linked via skywalk to the Indiana Convention Center. The complex will feature a JW Marriott tower, three other properties and a 40,500-square foot ballroom. This will bring the number of connected hotels to 12 and the room inventory to 4,700.
The 63,000-seat Lucas Oil Stadium, which will feature a retractable roof and be connected to the Indiana Convention Center via walkway, is under construction and will open in August.
A new, $1 billion midfield terminal will open at the Indianapolis International Airport on October 28. The airport is located less than 15 minutes via interstate highway from downtown Indy.
